1) When can I go on my holidays?
Answer: You can begin to holiday as soon as you are enrolled into RCI. You will receive an RCI Member card with your own membership number, which you should quote every time you call RCI. You can only exchange the week you own once you have completed your purchase and have received your Membership Certificate from the Trustee.
2) Can I book flights through RCI?
Answer: Yes, you can book flights, hire cars, pay insurance etc directly through RCI; just call them at their member services department.
3) How do I make an exchange?
Answer: You call QVC and tell them where you want to go. Ask them to deposit a week for you into the RCI system. Once you have done this you are now ready to go on exchange. Call RCI at any time to make your exchange request, or ask QVC to assist you.
4) Do I have to request an exchange at the same time I deposit the week I own?
Answer: No. Each November you will receive your next year’s Maintenance Fee Invoice. You will also receive a form asking how you want to use your week next year. It will ask, “ Will you be using an QVC resort, RCI exchange or saving your week till the following year? ” All you have to do is to decide whether you want to go to a QVC resort next year or you want to go on an exchange. If you want to use a QVC resort, you do not deposit your week with RCI. However, if you want to exchange your week, state this on the form and QVC will deposit your week with RCI for you. At a later date, choose where and when you want to go, call QVC and they will handle your exchange request. And remember, there’s no fee involved in depositing your week.
5) When can I expect to hear about the confirmation of my exchange request?
Answer: If the units and dates you requested are available, your request can be confirmed immediately. If not, your Holiday Consultant can enter your request into the computer system to continue to search for a match. Your QVC Consultant will contact you to advise on availability and, if necessary, assist you with your holiday planning.
6) When do I pay the exchange fee?
Answer: The exchange fee is payable when you make your request for an exchange. Please have your credit card number on hand when making your call.
7) Does RCI own or manage the resorts within its network?
Answer: No. RCI is an exchange company that specializes in offering its members exchanges around the world. RCI does not own nor operate any of the resorts within its network. All are independently owned but affiliated to RCI

8) How secure and confidential is my credit card account number after giving it to RCI over the phone?
Answer: The computerized RCI exchange system has a built-in, tamper-resistant security feature to ensure that once a transaction is completed; all information pertaining to your credit card account will automatically be erased. Hence, it is necessary for your Holiday Consultants to ask for your credit card number every time a new transaction is processed.
9) How can I make the exchange system best work for me?
Answer: Select two or three preferred travel dates and area (example: Gold Coast of Australia) from the RCI Directory of resorts. If you select one resort, you are limiting yourself to the availability of that one resort. However, if you request an area, you have all the resorts in that area available to you. Deposit your week and request your exchange as early as possible. It really is that simple.
10) How will I know when my RCI membership expires?
Answer: When your membership expiry date is approaching, RCI will keep you informed through notices in your regular member publications, and through timely messages sent directly to you. Alternately, you may call RCI directly to check on the status of your membership at any time.
11) How do I request a Split Week?
Answer: When you are requesting your reservation, notify the QVC Member Services that you want to use two resorts in your week. QVC will arrange everything for you, including transportation from one resort to the next. Alternately, you can take two separate “Mini-Holiday” during the fiscal year_ one a three-day holiday and the other a four-day.
12) Why do I have to pay maintenance fees?
Answer: All owners pay annual maintenance fee to their home resort. This money pays for the general upkeep, maintenance and management of their resort. Every owner has purchased holiday ownership to improve the quality of their holidays and the maintenance fee is paid to ensure that their accommodation is of the same quality in years to come as it is today. This also means that when you go on exchange to other resort or hotels, their owners are paying to keep that resort beautiful so that everyone stays in quality accommodations. Nobody would want to purchase a valuable product and then let it deteriorate though neglect. Instead, everyone pays a little to ensure that his or her holidays are a memorable and enjoyable experience, this year and every year.
